Long Valley Veneers

Porcelain Veneers in Long Valley, NJ

Dental Veneers and Dental Laminates

Dental Veneers
Ralph E. Rogler, DMD is an expert veneers dentist and provides dental veneers so that patients can restore damaged teeth or transform their smile into something beautiful. At Rogler Family Dentistry we often treat patients that have a variety of dental concerns. Some patients visit our Long Valley office because their tooth has been broken while others are looking to create a Hollywood smile. Most people are candidates for the procedure as long as their tooth structure and roots are in place. If, however, you have a cavity or gum disease this will need to be treated before the procedure is completed.

If you want to learn more about dental veneers, we recommend that you call (908) 850-0506 to schedule an appointment. We are known throughout New Jersey as a trusted provider of veneers and can let you know if they will help you to achieve the goals that you have for your smile.

What is a Dental Veneer?

A veneer is a thin shell that is made out of porcelain or ceramic. The shade of the veneer, along with its shape and size will be made to match your surrounding teeth so that it blends in perfectly.

How is a Dental Veneer Used?

We can accomplish a variety of things using dental veneers. By placing them on top of the teeth, we can close gaps, make teeth even in length, cover dark stains and create a uniform looking smile. In this way, veneers can create a smile that rivals the most famous Hollywood stars. In fact, many of them have had this procedure to create the smile you see today. The nice thing is that you don’t have to be famous to improve your smile. You simply need to call 908-850-0506 and schedule an appointment to see Ralph E. Rogler, DMD.

We also use dental veneers for restorations. When teeth become cracked, chipped or broken, a veneer can be used to restore the tooth to its full functionality. As long as the tooth structure is intact, it is an excellent way to restore the appearance of a tooth while making it possible to eat and speak without feeling any discomfort.

The Procedure

When patients visit our Rogler Family Dentistry offices, we will take an impression of their teeth so that the veneers can be created in a lab. They will be made to match the size, shape, and color of your teeth so this can take a week or more.

In order to have dental veneers placed, Ralph E. Rogler, DMD will first prepare your tooth by removing a portion of the enamel. This is necessary so that the veneer will lay flat and in line with your gum tissue. After the tooth has been prepared, a temporary veneer will be secured using removable glue. While wearing a temporary veneer, it is important to brush your teeth gently and avoid eating any foods that could push it out of place. Since it is secured by removable glue, it can be moved fairly easily.

When your permanent veneers are ready, you will come back into our Rogler Family Dentistry offices so that Ralph E. Rogler, DMD can remove the temporary and ensure that the new veneer is a perfect fit. It is typically attached using a water based solution to see how it looks. If any adjustments need to be made, it will be done at this time. Otherwise, the tooth will be cleaned, and the dental veneer will be bonded to the tooth. Patients throughout New Jersey love how the results look. They are instant, and you can start flashing your smile right away.

After the Procedure

Your teeth will typically be sore for a few days after they have been prepared and after the permanent veneers are placed. During this time, you can take pain medication to help you stay comfortable. Patients throughout the 07853 area also benefit from getting rest and using a cold compress to reduce any swelling. Ralph E. Rogler, DMD recommend that patients watch what they eat for a few days and stick with foods that are soft. While there is a short recovery time when getting veneers, the procedure is entirely worth it because in the end you will have a beautiful smile.

Benefits of Dental Veneers

Patients throughout the Long Valley, NJ area love how veneers make their teeth look. This procedure is an excellent solution, because veneers can be used to transform your smile into one that looks perfect and beautiful. It does so, while still using your natural teeth, so there is no need for surgery, and the recovery time is reduced. Since the veneers are made to match your other teeth, they will look natural, and no one will be able to tell that you had any cosmetic dentistry work completed. Another benefit is that they are made out of a stain resistant material. This means that your teeth will stay whiter and brighter, even if your favorite beverage is a hot cup of coffee. Ralph E. Rogler, DMD is an expert veneers dentist and can use them to transform your smile.

Porcelain Veneers FAQs

Is the veneers procedure painful?

No, the veneers procedure isn’t painful at all because we use numbing agents to help with any potential discomfort. The treatment overall is minimally invasive and won’t cause much pain after Dr. Rogler has completed also.

After we’ve completed your veneers procedure, you might feel minor sensitivity for the first few days but this will diminish quickly. If you continue to experience pain for a long period of time, please give us a call right away so Dr. Rogler can see if there’s a problem.

How long do veneers last?

Veneers are designed to last around 10 years with excellent care and maintenance. However, our veneers are made of porcelain which is a long-lasting, natural-looking, durable material that’s built to last.

Our porcelain veneers can last up to 20 years with great care and regular dental visits. It’s good to know that the success and longevity of your veneers come down to you and your oral hygiene.

How many appointments does the entire procedure require?

The veneers procedure is fairly fast and takes just two appointments. The first visit will be a preparatory appointment to get your teeth ready for veneers placement. You’ll have temporary veneers placed before you leave so your smile remains beautiful until you return.

At your next appointment, Dr. Rogler will have your new veneers ready for placement. Your veneers will provide you with a flawless smile that looks natural and functions perfectly. After we’ve completed placement of each veneer, you’ll be able to leave with your rejuvenated smile.

Does dental insurance cover veneers?

Unfortunately, dental insurance doesn’t usually cover veneers treatments. Since it’s a cosmetic procedure, most insurance providers don’t consider the treatment to be necessary for your health so they won’t pay for the costs.

However, we do partner with the third-party financial company CareCredit that allows patients without insurance pay for their dental treatments without worry. You can learn more about this option and easily apply online.

What if my veneer falls off or is damaged?

If your veneer falls off or is damaged, we recommend giving our Long Valley office a call right away to get in to get it fixed – (908) 850-0506. We also suggest keeping any pieces of your veneer that have fallen off if you have them.

Depending on what happened, Dr. Rogler can try to reattach your veneer when you visit so you don’t have to wait for a new one to be made. We also don’t recommend trying to fix or reattach your veneer yourself with dental glue because this can cause serious issues in the future.

How do I take care of my veneers?

In order to properly take care of your veneers so they can last for years to come, you must:

  • Brush twice a day with a non-abrasive toothpaste
  • Floss at least once a day to remove food and other debris between teeth and to help protect the health of your teeth, veneers, and gums.
  • Rinse with an alcohol-free mouthwash after your hygiene routine to keep your veneers safely attached.
  • Regularly visit Rogler Family Dentistry for your dental check-ups and teeth cleaning to avoid infection and more.

Do veneers work for crooked teeth?

Yes, veneers are a great way to virtually straighten your teeth without needing braces or clear aligners. Since veneers are placed on the surfaces of your natural teeth, they help enhance the appearance of them no matter what the flaw might be.

However, it’s important to know that veneers won’t actually shift your teeth to be straighter. If you want a more permanent solution for crooked teeth, then orthodontic treatment may be right for you.

The Downside
As with most cosmetic procedures, there can be some discomfort associated with getting dental veneers installed. This is to be expected, however, we do our best to keep patients completely comfortable during the procedure so that you will not experience any pain while the veneers are being placed or your teeth are being prepared. The process can take several weeks so there will be a period where you need to be careful about what you eat and what activities you engage in. In other words, don’t play football after getting temporary veneers placed onto your teeth. You should schedule the procedure for a time where you will be close to home and able to take easy.

Payment
At Rogler Family Dentistry we understand that your insurance company may or may not pay for veneers. We will work with you and your insurance company to ensure that you receive the dental care that you need, regardless of how much they are willing to pay. We offer a variety of financing solutions for those that are uninsured, as well. By creating a payment plan, we make getting veneers affordable.
