At Rogler Family Dentistry, we can provide you with a Zoom!®  teeth whitening treatment or LaserSmile® to remove stains and deep discoloration from your teeth. Over time, it is natural for teeth to become stained and discolored. This can happen due to drinking a great deal of coffee, eating soy sauce, or even taking doctor-prescribed antibiotics. Things like smoking can speed up the problem, but regardless, most people will experience their teeth becoming darker and more yellow in time. The good news is that our teeth whitening solution can turn back the clock and effectively give you a smile that is bright white and beautiful. If you live in the 07853 area, we encourage you to call (908) 850-0506 and schedule an appointment with our Long Valley, NJ office to begin your smile transformation.

What Makes Teeth Whitening Treatments Safe?

As a Long Valley dentist, one of the questions we hear on a regular basis is, "What makes teeth whitening treatments safe?" This is a complex question because Zoom!® teeth whitening is entirely safe. However, many of the home remedies are not. For example, whitening your teeth with lemon or lime juice is incredibly dangerous because it is acidic and can lead to enamel erosion and permanent tooth sensitivity. Our whitening solution is non-acidic and whitens teeth using a peroxide-base that is safe enough to penetrate the enamel and target the molecules from within the teeth.  Through the process of oxidization, the molecules inside your teeth will begin to reflect less light and appear colorless.  This is what gives them a bright white appearance.

Zoom!® Teeth Whitening and LaserSmile®

At Rogler Family Dentistry, we offer our 07853 patients the ability to whiten teeth using two proven methods: Zoom!TM teeth whitening and LaserSmileTM.  Both are effective ways to remove stains and whiten teeth. They both require the use of light to activate the whitening solution. However, Zoom!TM  uses a special dental light where LaserSmileTM uses lasers.

Hydrogen peroxide is used in the whitening solution for both, with Zoom!TM  having 25 percent of their whitener peroxide based.  LaserSmileTM has 38 percent of their whitener peroxide based.  Both procedures are performed at our Long Valley, NJ office, and one of the reasons they are safe is that steps are taken to reduce the likelihood of the teeth becoming exposed to too much heat.  This is done by filtering out infrared emissions with the Zoom!TM  teeth whitening treatment.  With LaserSmileTM, each tooth is only exposed to the laser for up to four minutes, which also reduces heat exposure.  As a result, teeth are significantly whitened without becoming irritated or sensitive.

The Risk:

One of the reasons it is important to whiten your teeth with a Long Valley dentist is the risk of overexposure. If you whiten your teeth at home and are whitening them too frequently, you could create sensitive teeth and struggle with your daily eating and drinking as a result. Also, you do not want to put teeth whitening solution onto infected or decayed teeth. This makes it important to have a dental examination and any signs of tooth decay treated before whitening them.

To begin the process of whitening your teeth, call (908) 850-0506 and schedule an appointment with our dental office.
